Clear words about what we collect, why we use it and the choices you have when you read, listen, subscribe or purchase here.
ThoughtsbyIB runs this website and the services described here: Thoughts, Letters, ebook releases, Office Hours and Affirmation Words subscriptions. For privacy questions or requests, email info@thoughtsbyib.com.
When you join the Letters, request an ebook or subscribe to Thought updates, we collect the name and email address you provide, your sign-up source, subscription status and email-delivery history. When you create an account or purchase Affirmation Words, we also process account details, your chosen plan and category, order and subscription status, billing records and the dates needed to send the messages you paid for.
If you contact us or comment on a Thought, we receive what you send. WordPress may also record technical details such as an IP address and browser information for security and spam prevention. Essential site cookies and server logs help accounts, carts and subscriptions work.
We use this information to provide the service you asked for, deliver Letters, Thought alerts, ebook notices and active Affirmation Words messages, administer accounts and payments, answer enquiries, prevent misuse and meet record-keeping obligations. Where applicable, we rely on your request or consent for optional updates, our contract with you for paid services, legitimate interests in keeping the site secure and useful, and legal obligations for financial records.
Letters and Thought updates are optional. Every such email includes an unsubscribe route. If you leave and later rejoin, your subscription resumes from that new request. Affirmation Words messages follow the plan and category on an active paid subscription; they pause when payment is on hold, the subscription ends or you cancel, and resume from the saved message position if you reactivate or resubscribe. Account, purchase, renewal and service messages may still be sent when needed to manage a transaction or subscription.
Checkout is handled through WooCommerce and the payment method shown when you pay. Payment providers process payment details; we keep the order, payment reference and subscription information needed to administer your purchase, not your full card number. Depending on the service and configuration, our hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce software, email delivery provider, spam-protection tools and payment provider may process information for us. Brevo may be enabled for some email delivery or follow-ups; the main site can also send through its configured WordPress mail service. We do not sell your personal information.
The Listen page displays recent Office Hours video titles and thumbnail images from YouTube. Loading a thumbnail can send your IP address and browser details to Google. Selecting a video opens YouTube in a new tab, where Google handles your activity under its own privacy terms. Links to other external sites have their own practices too.
Essential cookies may keep you signed in, remember a cart or support checkout and security. Your browser can block or delete cookies, but some account and purchase features may then stop working. We keep information only while needed for the purposes above, including an active subscription, support, fraud prevention and applicable tax or accounting obligations. Newsletter records and delivery history are retained as needed to honour unsubscribe choices and prevent duplicate sends. You can ask us to review or remove information that is no longer required.
You can update account details in My Account, use the unsubscribe link in optional emails, or contact us to ask for access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information. Some records must be kept to fulfil a transaction or legal obligation, so a deletion request may not remove every order record immediately. If applicable privacy law gives you additional rights or a right to complain to a regulator, you may exercise those rights.
We use reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information and limit access to people and providers who need it. No online system can promise absolute security. Service providers may process data in other countries; when that happens we seek appropriate protections. We may update this policy as services change, and the revised date below will show when the page was last changed.
